Job Description - Worship Pastor (Part-Time)

Employment:Part-Time 20 hours/week – Commensurate with experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a Worship Director with a deep desire for the presence of God and a passion to teach & lead people into genuine encounter with Jesus. This role centers on cultivating a healthy worship culture by forming worshippers, mentoring leaders, and guiding volunteer teams, while leading and teaching our church in Christ-centered worship.”

 

Primary Responsibilities

Sunday Worship Leadership

• Lead worship on Sundays with musical excellence and spiritual sensitivity, creating an accessible and formative environment that guides newcomers and those newer to the faith into a life of worship.

• Prayerfully plan weekly worship sets that support the sermon and church vision.

• Lead and pastor worship teams—musicians, vocalists, and tech volunteers—through clear communication, prayerful preparation, and relational leadership.

• Foster an atmosphere where people encounter Jesus and are invited to grow as disciples through worship.

 

Worship Nights

• Lead and help shape regular worship nights that provide extended space for prayer, response, and attentiveness to the Holy Spirit.

 

Team Development & Discipleship

• Recruit, schedule, and develop worship team members, with an emphasis on both musical growth and spiritual formation.

• Provide ongoing coaching, spiritual encouragement, and feedback that helps volunteers grow as worshippers first, musicians second

• Identify and invest in emerging leaders, creating pathways for increased responsibility and leadership development.

• Cultivate a team culture reflecting Point View’s values.

• Lead quarterly worship team gatherings for vision, prayer, spiritual development

• Develop and empower team leaders (e.g., section leaders, vocal leaders, or worship set leaders) to share ownership of care, preparation, and team culture.

 

Creative & Administrative Leadership

• Oversee Planning Center, charts, schedules, and resources.

• Oversee A/V and tech volunteers for quality and reliability.

• Maintain worship resources, instruments, and equipment.

• Support special services (Advent, Good Friday, Easter, Christmas Eve, Nights of Worship).

 

Vision for Ministry 3-5 years

• To cultivate culture of in-house song writing that emerges from the life of the church community.

• Develop the next generation of worship leaders, musicians, and creatives through mentoring and intentional investment.

• Continue growing a presence-focused worship culture that forms lifestyle of worship both inside and outside the church.

 

Qualifications

• A growing relationship with Jesus.

• Alignment with Point View’s vision, values, and theology.

2–3 years of leadership experience in a church, ministry, or team-based environment.

• Experience leading worship in a church setting.

Preferred: Formal training in worship, music, theology, or ministry through a college program, ministry school, or equivalent formation experience.

• Strong vocal and instrumental ability.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Experience using ProPresenter (or willingness to learn)

• Experience with Multitracks (or willingness to learn)

• Basic understanding of audio systems and working alongside tech team
