Life On Team This Next Year
Relationships are the core of the vision, mission, and values of the Outreach Team. Each team member’s relationship with God is the most important key to the Outreach Team’s success to see people through the eyes of God, the Father. The relationships between the Outreach team members will be the foundation of the team’s ability to build relationships with the people they serve during outreach projects.
Year One of the Outreach Team will focus on building relationships within the team that will serve as the foundation for the team’s ability to do outreaches in the community. The team will keep with the simple schedule of one big and one small outreach per season and use that to build and strengthen relationships between the team and the community organizations it will serve. Equipping will also be a focus this year by doing some form of Equipping/God’s Mission class to prepare the team to see how God has given them a mission field in their professional and personal life and start to imagine how God wants to serve Him in those areas.
Our Rhythm
Big Outreaches (Whole Church)
Spring: Loads of Love (Neighbor to Neighbor), Easter Baskets (Neighbor to Neighbor)
Summer: Mission Washington
Fall: Unite the City + other coat drives (Neighbor to Neighbor)
Winter: Community Christmas Giveaway (Neighbor to Neighbor)
Small Outreaches (1–2 teams)
Examples may include: Jubilee assistance and prayer, nursing home outreach, prayer walks, City Mission partnerships, and other local needs as they arise.
Team Gatherings
The Outreach Team gathers once a month before or after church (snacks included). We’ll review upcoming outreaches, worship together, and make room for encouragement and training. Before and/or after each outreach, we take time to pray and decompress as a team.
